The abstract work I do challenges the logical part of my brain that I love to use. The freedom to combine colors and shapes please my free spirit.

Elizabeth Carr:

I am a California artist and have loved art since early childhood. I have been painting since 2003 and enjoy doing mainly abstract and non-objective paintings. I work with several different types of media, such as watercolor, acrylic, ink, collage, and gouache.

I started my art education, by taking a class with Watercolor West’s former president and renowned artist, Tom Fong. I have also studied extensively with the former president of the National Watercolor Society, Chris Van Winkle.

I took classes for about a year with local Claremont artist Sylvia Megerdician and attended art workshops with artists, Gerald Brommer, Ratindra Das and Virginia Cobb.

I was honored to serve for several years on the board of National Watercolor Society as show director.

I have been honored to have my artwork recognized in many local and national shows.

Studio C:

For years I search for the right location to permanently create and show my art. In May of 2016, I found my creative space in Claremont and started Studio C. Over the years, my personal studio space has grown into a Gallery that supports some great local art. A visit to Studio C will provide you a glimpse of some really creative people.
